Building typologies in the Nordic countries. Identification of potential energy saving measures.
This report is published by SBi as part of a joint Nordic project MECOREN (Methods and Concepts for sustainable Renovation). The objective of the MECOREN project was to develop methods and concepts for sustainable renovation of buildings and groups of buildings.
This report presents Work Package 1 of the project and summarizes a common starting point for the following Work Packages of the MECOREN project. It describes the actual building stock in each of the Nordic partner countries, Denmark, Norway, Finland and Sweden.
The main purpose of the work in Work Package 1 was to point to the energy saving potential within the building stock and to open a debate about the driving forces and barriers to sustainable renovation. Work Package 1 also collected information about existing regulations and incentives for sustainable renovation and energy classification systems in the partner countries.
