Sound insulation between dwellings

UNCONFIRMED TRANSLATION - FOR EDUCATIONAL USE ONLY

​This direction is a translation of SBi-anvisning 237, and concerns sound insulation between newly built homes and similar buildings used for overnight stays, e.g. hotels, student hostels and residential homes.

The direction describes construction-related solutions to housing-separating walls and storey partitions as well as collections between them, so that they serve the purposes about acoustic indoor climate in Building regulations 2010 matching sound class C in DS 490:2007, Sound classification of dwellings. Selected solutions have been documented at calculations of the constructions' airborne sound insulation and impact sound level.
